Frankenstein is a new music theater composition that translates Mary Shelley's literary icon into an independent musical language. At the heart of the project are the voices of DIE ECKIGEN — an inclusive ensemble from Stralsund whose members bring extraordinary expressive power to the stage.

The composition explores themes of creation, fragmentation, and the uncanny through live voice modulation and 3D audio, which transform the performers' voices into layered, moving bodies of sound. What emerges is an experimental, inclusive form of music theater — one that makes Shelley's question of "the self that becomes strange to us" viscerally, physically audible. The production is a collaboration with composer and vocalist Frieda Gawenda, funded by MusikFonds, and will premiere on the main stage of Theater Vorpommern in Stralsund on the 1st of October 2026.
